June 11, 2013 - Ericsson-LG, a leader in the wireless and wired telecommunication industry, announced that it will support CM (Creative Managed-Services) Research which will be inaugurated at the Center of Korea Science and Technology center on June 11.

CM Research plans to share a wide range of overseas service economy cases, and develop and adopt an optimal service model that fits best each of Korea’s industries. To build managed service environment for the related industry sectors and adopt the best model, the research body will discuss with experts from various fields on its research findings, and work together to set future directives and strategies for the research.

U.S. and leading European countries have already adopted managed services to enhance the competitiveness of service industry and are leveraging it as the foundation for national growth. In Korea, however, the introduction of managed service has not progressed.

Bong-kyu Lee, head of Korean Society of Internet Information said, “Through CM Research, we will contribute to Korea’s creative economy by promoting participation of experts from service related academia and industries. We hope managed service is briskly adopted in various industries.”

“Just as Korea achieved marvelous growth in the manufacturing industry before, we want to see similar achievement in the service industry. CM Research was established to conduct researches on innovative models of seamless convergence between ICT and other industries, and drive environment for creative service economy,” said Sung-oh Min, chairman of CM Research and Senior Advisor of Ericsson-LG. “We hope CM Research become the foundation for lifting the competiveness of Korea’s service industry.”

CM Research is hosted by Korean Society of Internet Information and sponsored by Ericsson-LG.
