- Optimized End-to-End Solutions Are Simpler to Install and Smarter to Manage
- SEOUL-The iPECS Ethernet Switch (ES) series-introduced today by LG-Nortelat the IT EXPO East 2010-provides easy voice integration and enterprise-grade Ethernet services for small and medium businesses (SMBs).
Cost-constrained SMBs regularly identify the need to upgrade networks to cope with growing businesses and new types of multimedia traffic as a major priority. By simplifying the migration to Gigabit Ethernet, the new switches give LG-Nortel an end-to-end voice and data solutions portfolio that helps SMBs easily upgrade networks with all the headroom they require to support new applications, now and into the future.
Not only do they deliver enterprise-class features at an SMB-class investment, but the iPECS-ES series draws on LG-Nortel's years of success in developing highly reliable Metro Ethernet solutions. The Layer 2 switches provide reliable Fast Ethernet and Gigabit Ethernet capabilities while enabling simpler, smarter management of voice and data devices through the single, intuitive user interface of LG-Nortel's iPECS Unified Device Manager (UDM).
“As use of high-bandwidth applications increases, small and medium businesses are prioritizing network upgrades that can help them increase performance and manageability," said JD An, vice president, Enterprise Solutions of LG-Nortel. “Our new iPECS-ES 1000, 2000, and 3000 switches tick all the boxes, building on our long legacy of robust network devices to deliver enterprise-class features. These cost-effective, environmentally friendly Fast Ethernet and Gigabit Ethernet Switches, voice, and unified communications solutions make LG-Nortel a one-stop shop for SMBs' voice and data networking requirements."
The new switches include the ES-1000, an unmanaged 100Mbps switch for smaller workgroups; the ES-2000, a family of four 100/1000Mbps Advanced Smart switches for small and medium-sized offices and branch offices; and the ES-3000, a family of four 100/1000Mbps fully managed switches for larger offices and branch offices. The ES-2000 and ES-3000 support a broad range of features including advanced QoS, security and management fitting for building reliable data networks for VoIP and unified communications. They also incorporate the latest technologies such as Green Ethernet, with an environment-friendly low-power design and PoE and PoE+ supporting both 15.4 watts and 30 watts in a single switch for a flexible and economical network design.
LG-Nortel will demonstrate its new SMB switches, alongside its entire portfolio of voice and data solutions, at IT EXPO (http://www.tmcnet.com/voip/conference/) East 2010, to be held from 20-22 January in Miami, USA.
