Ericsson-LG, as an ICT leader, holds the Girls in ICT Hackathon to encourage women's STEM education and encourage career development in the ICT industry in order to create a balanced and diverse ICT industry.

Theme
Proposal of ICT utilization ideas to solve industrial and social challenges for a sustainable future
Eligibility
Female university students majoring in science and engineering (minors, double majors allowed / students on leave allowed)
Winning privilege
- Internship
- 2 million won prize money


1. Preliminary round
- Team composition: Maximum 3 people in a team
- Submit an idea proposal that fits the topic within 3 PowerPoint pages
- Written language: English - Foreign judges, including the CEO, must be included among the judges so must be written in English
- Except for covers and slip sheets - Application for Participation: On Off Mix
- Submission deadline: October 13 (Thu) by 11:00 am
2. Prior training
- Target: 10 teams making it to the finals
- Date: November 4 (Fri)
- Venue: Ericsson-LG Seoul R&D Campus (Gasan, Seoul)
- Contents:
- Hackathon task guide
- Delivery of demo kit (Raspberry Pi, sensor module)
- Basic training for using the demo kit
- Mentoring with Ericsson-LG Developer
3. Finals
- After pre-training, use the provided demo kit to submit hackathon tasks and presentation materials
- Submit an assignment:
- Advanced idea proposal and demo demonstration diagram (within 3 PowerPoint chapters)
- 5 minutes or less video (explaining ideas, demonstrating demos)
- Presentation language: English - Foreign judges, including the CEO, must be included among the judges and make sure to present in English. - 5 finalist teams selected based on submitted materials
- Submission deadline: November 9 (Wed) by 11:00 am
4. Grand finale
- Target: 5 finalists
- Date: November 23 (Wed)
- Location: Seoul R&D Campus, South Korea
- Content: 10 minutes per team
- Watching the 5 minute demo video submitted
- 2-minute additional explanation
- 3-minute Q&A (simultaneous interpretation available) - Prize money of 2 million won each, internships during vacation, plaques and certificates given to the top 3 teams
