Ericsson-LG held Networked Society Day 2017 on the theme "Welcome to the Digital Frontier" at The Plaza Hotel on May 31st. This year marks the fifth anniversary of the event, sharing diverse insights on a sustainable future and a variety of ways to realize the Network Society and presenting alternatives.

This year, 8 sessions were held with network and cloud-related fields evolving to meet the upcoming 5G era. In particular, the Early Bird session, which was held before the official opening, attracted a great deal of attention due to the announcement of the industrial inducement effect of 5G based on the recently released 'Ericsson 5G Business Potential' report.

Through the event that was divided into two parts, alternatives to the 5G base station installation space were presented, the latest trends in cloud-based core network technology that can provide 5G services anytime and anywhere, and the cases of the use of evolved networks were introduced. The sessions also included the new business opportunities that can be created through advanced Big Data technology, a billing architecture that can improve the customer experience of digital services, and a futuristic hybrid cloud. In the final session, the infrastructure virtualization products and solutions for building next-generation data centers were introduced together with Intel Korea.

This year as well, many representatives of major telecom industry and various ICT ecosystem partners attended with great interest, sharing insights on the latest trends and technologies, and discussing future business opportunities and cooperation.
